Honeydew Mountain Honey
Honeydew honey of the highest quality produced in the mountains in the heart of the Modenese Apennines: the ideal habitat for our bees. Honeydew honey, also called forest honey, is a very famous honey rich in nutritional properties. It is not derived from the classic harvesting of nectar from flowers, but from honeydew, i.e. a sweet substance produced by certain insects that deposit it on the leaves of trees after feeding on the sap. The bees collect this substance, producing a honey with peculiar characteristics: very viscous, which does not crystallise. Rich in beneficial properties, it is a very precious food for our diet because it is abundant in mineral salts, amino acids and vitamins. It is also a source of calcium, sodium, magnesium, potassium and iron.
